The 2009 Yamaha YZF-R1 is a supersport style motorcycle powered by a 998 cc, Liquid-cooled, 4-stroke, forward-inclined parallel 4-cylinder, 4-valves, DOHC engine, combined with Fuel Injection features YCC-T (Yamaha Chip Control Throttle) and YCC-I (Yamaha’s Chip Controlled Intake) producing 133.9 kW (182 PS) maximum power at 12,500 rpm (without air-induction) and 115.5 Nm (11.8 kg-m) maximum torque at 10,000 rpm. The 2009 Yamaha YZF-R1 features: The fuel injection’s lightweight Electronic Control Unit (ECU) utilizes a powerful 32-bit processor for fast control of the injection process; All new Mikuni fuel injection system features twin injectors (one set of primary & one set of secondary injectors); Compact ACM (alternator) is mounted directly to the new crankshaft; All new crossplane crankshaft features larger 36mm journals for increased strength; and many more advanced technologies.
