The 2009 Kawasaki KLR 650 is a dual purpose style motorcycle powered by 651cc, four-stroke, DOHC, four-valve single engine, 100.0 x 83.0mm bore and stroke, 9.8:1 compression ratio, paired with Keihin CVK40 carburetor and five-speed transmission generating 37bhp maximum power at 6,200rpm and 45.3 Nm maximum torque at 4,950rpm.
