The 2011 Ducati Diavel Carbon is a sport / street bike that some classify as a power cruiser – high performing yet stylish. With a bulky and muscular appearance at 456 lbs., the motorcycle still handles superbly. Powertrain is a 162 horsepower, 1200 cc liquid-cooled L-twin housed in a rigid Trellis frame that uses large diameter, light gauge tubing with two lateral die-cast aluminum section flowing to the rear subframe. Front suspension uses fork with fork slider, gripped by a slash cut triple clamp that are adjustable for spring pre-load, compression and rebound damping, and having a total steering angle of 70° for good maneuverability. The Sachs adjustable rear suspension slung low horizontally and operated by a progressive pull-rod link from the swingarm. Electronic package includes traction control, Anti-lock Brake System (ABS), and three riding modes. Exhaust is lead out through a lightweight 2-1-2 pipes. Other features include a low two level seat, handlebar mounted split level instruments, wide rear Pirelli wheel that employs bi-compound technology, and carbon fiber touches on the tank panel, seat cover, and front mudguard.
