The 2011 Chevrolet Avalanche 1500 LTZ is a unique combination of full-size pickup truck with SUV characteristics. The crew-cab and bed are structured on a one-piece body separated with a midgate that gives it more flexibility for carrying a combination of passengers and cargo. The midgate can be fold down to extend the cargo area to the back of the front seats – from 5-foot 3-inch (bed length) to just over 8-feet. The bed gets a three-piece hard tonneau cover, lockable with the tailgate. The interior gives an SUV comfort that accommodates five passengers. Engine is a 5.3-liter V8 mated to a six-speed automatic gearbox, delivering 320 hp and 335 lb.ft. of torque. EPA estimated fuel economy is 17 mpg combined. The pick-up truck comes in two-wheel drive or four-wheel drive. It can tow a maximum 8100 lbs. when equipped.
The top-of the line Chevy Avalanche LTZ trim features abundant of convenience amenities including 20” alloy wheels, outside mirrors with integrated turn signal, touring-oriented auto-leveling rear suspension with auto ride control, two-speed transfer case with low-range gearing, auto-dimming rearview mirror, leather upholstery, heated and ventilated front bucket seats, navigation system, rearview camera, and Bose surround-sound system. A Z71 Off-Road package is available. Lesser trim includes the LS and LT model that can seat up to six people.
