The 2011 Chevrolet Traverse LS is an 8-passenger large SUV crossover with carlike ride and sleek stylish design. Engine is a 3.6-Liter 24-valve V6 DOHC engine with Variable Valve Timing, delivering 281 hp and266 lb.ft. of torque through a six-speed automatic gearbox. The standard front wheel drive model achieves an estimated 19 mpg combined. Interior is roomy with easy access to third row thanks to its smart-slide 2nd row seats, and 24 cu.ft. of cargo space is provided with all seats in place. Equipped with ABS, traction and stability control, front seat side-impact airbags and all rows side curtain airbags, it earns a 5-star overall performance in government’s crash test. However, this sport utility has its drawbacks, mainly the compromised outward visibility. Features in this base Traverse LS includes 17” steel wheels, air condition, full power accessories, split-folding 2nd and 3rd row bench seats, tilt/telescoping steering wheel, and six speaker CD/MP3 player with auxiliary audio jack and satellite radio.
