The 2011 Honda Insight EX is a compact hybrid sedan that seats 5 occupants. Power is gained as with the other model in its lineup, from itts Integrated Motor Assist (IMA) system, that teamed a 1.3-liter 4-cylinder i-VTEC engine with a 10kW electric motor producing 98 hp. Continuously variable transmission (CVT) adjusts to provide the most efficient drive ratio, and Eco Assist feature helps boost efficiency (ECON mode through a touch of a button plus information feedback on your driving style vs. fuel efficiency). The Insight EX model comes with steering wheel mounted paddle shifters, enabling the driver to trigger manual type gear changes programmed into the CVT. Ordinary driving gives a stable performance and good handling around corners. However, pushing for strong acceleration can feel strained. The 2011 Honda Insight EX high-end trim level upgrades with heated mirrors, steering wheels audio controls, six-speaker sound system, and 15” alloy wheels. Optionally, the EX can be fitted with a voice activated navigation system with touch screen interface, Bluetooth, and digital audio card reader.
