The 2011 Harley Davidson Sportster® Forty-Eight™ coded XL1200X is one of the US made minimalist Dark Custom™ model H-D standard bike. It inherits its name from an old-time model that came out in 1948, the WR 1000 Flathead. The 1200cc air-cooled, fuel-injected V-twin pushrod-operated engine with hydraulic self adjusting valve lifters plays on the low rpm range torque. The cruiser has a 26 in. ultra-low and smallest solo seat in the Sportster range, that accommodates a good deal of suspension at the back. A low saddle means a low-slung suspension thus minimum in travel. Key features of the Sportster Fourty-Eight include a 2.1 gallon classic tapered peanut fuel tank, slammed drag-style handlebar with speedo and under mount mirrors, fat and beefy 16” MT90 tires, forward-mounted controls, and side-mounted license plate.
