The 2011 Honda CB1000R is motored by a CBR1000RR-based 998cc liquid cooled inline four-cylinder engine mated to a close ratio six-speed gearbox which is tuned for acceleration from low torque rpm. A low-slung exhaust is employed, designed with built in oxygen sensor and 300-cell catalyzer that works with the advanced programmed fuel injection to achieve low emission and strong performance. The bike features Intake Air Control Valve (IACV), a mono-backbone gravity die-cast aluminum frame incorporating the engine in a diamond configuration, responsive 43mm inverted HMAS front fork suspension that are fully adjustable for preload, compression and rebound damping, and rear single shock with single sided Honda Pro-Arm swingarm that provide just over 5-in. of travel. A dynamic and muscled appearance of this bike shows off an LED position lamp with 7-bulb layout, fully-digital meter panel with three large LCD readouts, upswept tail cowl, 17” swept 4-spoke wheels, and an optional tri-color version paint scheme. Riders sit in a more upright position on the two-piece ergonomic and narrow seat, as the engine is positioned out front and center.
