2011 Yamaha FZ1 Specs, Engine Features, and Overview

The 2011 Yamaha FZ1 is a supersport motorcycle fused with standard every day comfort design, showing off a stripped down look on a twin spar aluminum frame. Power is generated by the a 3rd generation fuel injected R1 powerplant – a 998 cc 20-valve, water cooled, 40° inclined, horizontal in-line 4-cylinder engine. It’s got a 11.5 to 1 compression ratio, and redline is set at an impressive 12000 rpm. Fuel consumption is a claimed 35 mpg. Transmission utilizes smooth shifting six-speed gearbox with a wider 5th and 6th ratio, suitable for relaxed cruising on the road as well as on-track high performance. Features in the Yamaha FZ1 includes fully adjustable suspension, a stylish half fairing, R1 inspired dual cat-eye halogen headlights, comfortable handlebar that supports a more upright riding position mounted atop the triple clamp, 4.76 gallon slim fuel tank with knee grip, separated two-up seat, one piece instrument console with digital speedometer and analog tachometer, 4-2-1 exhaust with stainless steel pipes and short style silencer/muffler, and 17” competition-type front and wide radial rear tire.
