2011 Chevrolet Volt Specs, Technical Data, and Video
The 2011 Chevrolet Volt is a 4-door 4-passenger plug-in battery/gasoline hybrid family sedan with hatchback. It boasts a clean, no-emission drive and high fuel efficiency of estimated 93 mpg combined. It can run in all-electric mode with its 149-horsepower (111 kW) electric motor for trips up to 40 miles. Power is supplied by a 16 kWh lithium-ion battery, that when its energy is depleted can switch to a gasoline/E85 fueled I-4 engine generator that provides electricity to the electric drive unit for up to 300 additional miles while simultaneously charging the battery. It also employs regenerative braking. The 4-cylinder internal combustion engine can also deliver power directly to the wheels in higher speeds. This car can be recharged through a 120V or 240V outlet (approximately 3-8 hours). It’s interior also adopts high-tech design cues. Standard features in the 2011 Chevy Volt includes keyless/remote ignition, automatic climate control, cruise control, auto-dimming rearview mirror, tilt-telescopic steering wheel, 6-way manual front seats, navigation system with touchscreen, OnStar, Bluetooth, voice controls and real time traffic, 6-speaker Bose stereo, automatic headlights, and 17” alloy wheels.
