The 2010 Volkswagen GTI is a front wheel drive 2-door compact hatchback, 165.8 in. in length. VW GTI has been around for 33 years, and is available also in 4-door. The 2010 model is motored by a Turbocharged direct injection Inline 4-cylinder (I4) TSI engine that pumps out 200 hp @ 5100 – 6000 rpm and 207 lb.ft. of torque @ 1800 – 5000 rpm. A 6-speed manual is the standard transmission, while a 6-speed automated manual dual clutch (DSG) transmission that can be operated from the shift lever or paddles at the steering wheel is optional. Handling is supple yet sporty with the front McPherson, rear multi-link – both independent – sport tuned suspension. A new feature is the XDS electronic transverse differential lock, that brakes the inside front wheel on corners to improve traction and handling. The 2010 VW GTI 2dr comes standard with trip computer, cruise control, heated front sport seats, 60/40 split-folding rear seat, 8-speaker touchscreen audio system w/ six CD changer, satellite radio and aux jack, Bluetooth, fog lights, and 17” alloy wheels. GTI earn a partial zero emissions vehicle (PZEV) rating.
