The 2011 Yamaha WR250R is a motocrosser inspired dual purpose bike. It is said to be just a bit more on the “street” side, but has a fairly good deal of off-road prowess. Compared to its WR250X sibling however, it is suited for riders who spend more time on the dirt track than on the pavement. The 298 lbs. lightweight motorcycle is powered by a 250cc single-cylinder 4-valve DOHC engine that yields 30.3 hp and 17.7 lb.ft. of peak torque – enough to run an estimated 90 mph tops on the highway. Fuel consumption is efficiently low at 71 mpg. The aluminum alloy chassis is fitted with long travel suspension comprising of a KYB fork paired with Soqi rear shock.
