The 2011 Harley-Davidson Sportster® XR1200X race inspired sporting motorcycle is driven by a spirited 1201cc Evolution® V-Twin engine and 5-speed transmission that claims to achieve 73.9 lb.ft. torque at 4000 rpm. Aluminum heads and cylinders are used to lighten the bike’s weight and improve air-cooling efficiency. The new styling is bold – with the black out treatment including for the powertrain and dual upswept exhaust, and three spoke cast aluminum black wheels with orange rim pinstripe. Also revised are the suspension, with Showa’s fully adjustable 43mm Big Piston Fork and 36mm fully adjustable Showa® shock. The strong dual, four-piston Nissin calipers front brakes and single piston rear are unchangeable. Other features include a 29° rake, two-piece stepped saddle, Dunlop® qualifier tires, wide low-rise handlebar, and XR750-inspired fuel tank with throwback graphics that’s integrated with the air intake underneath.
