The 2011 GMC Sierra 1500 XFE 2WD is the Xtra Fuel Economy mileage tweaked model, with a leading 18 mpg of combined fuel efficiency. It only comes with the toomy 6-passenger Crew Cab. It gets its power from a 315 hp 5.3-Liter Vortec V8 engine with iron cylinder block, and fitted with fuel saving technology including low ratio final gear (3.08 axle ratio) and low-rolling resistance tires. 6-speed automatic gearbox employed is electronically controlled with overdrive and tow/haul mode. Suspension features a handling/trailering heavy duty package that includes a 46mm piston monotube shocks. The short 5.75 ft. box model rides on a 143.5 in. wheelbase. Steering is light and precise, using hydraulic power assist rack and pinion. However, 23.6 ft. turning radius is considered big in its class. Other technical specification includes a heavy duty external engine oil cooler, automatic locking rear differential, and aluminized stainless steel muffler and tailpipe exhaust. The Sierra 1500 XFE’s interior is much accessorized like the SLE model.
