The 2011 Nissan Rogue S Krom Edition AWD gets slightly different styling cues. It shows off a more aggressive bumper with fog lamps, unique grille, 18” alloy wheels, and center-mounted sport exhaust with dual tailpipes. Other than that, the mechanicals are pretty much the same with the other models. This compact SUV crossover is motored by a 2.5-Liter four-cylinder engine with output of 170 hp and 175 lb.ft. of torque. Transmission is a CVT that responds well to prods of the throttle. For the all-wheel drive, EPA estimated fuel economy is 22 mpg city and 26 mpg highway. The cabin is comfortable and provides plenty of room for loads at the back. Besides the exterior twitch, Rogue S Krom comes with the S model’s standard equipment. Safety features include antilock disc brakes with brake assist, stability control, front seat side airbags, full-length side curtain airbags, and front active head restraints. One shortcoming is visibility, due to its bulky D-pillars and short rear windows making a blind spot.
The 2011 Nissan Juke S is a new species on the road. This subcompact hatchback has been said to be somewhere between a SUV crossover and sports car. It’s got a unique shape with 4-door and maximum 5-passenger, although the rear seat occupants will have limited headroom. Engine is a 1.6 L Direct Injection Gasoline DOHC 16-valve four-cylinder turbo engine. It produces 188 hp and 177 lb.ft. of peak torque. Fuel economy is rated 27 mpg urban and 32 mpg highway. It’s standard in front-wheel drive (FWD), while a torque vectoring All-Wheel Drive (AWD) is optional. Gearbox is an Xtronic Continuously Variable Transmission (CVT) with sport mode.
