The 2011 BMW R 1200 R base naked urban roadster receives a new boxer engine that displaces 1170 cc. The air-cooled 8-valve Flat Twin DOHC engine generates a generous 110 hp and 85 ft.lbs. of torque, giving this motorcycle a dynamic ride, reaching a top speed of up to 130 mph. Comfortable on the road and great on corners, the bike is built on a rigid two part main/rear frame with light steel tubing structure that can be loaded up to 500 lbs. and rolls on 17” light cast aluminum alloy wheels. The BMW Telelever and Paralever suspension can also be fitted optionally with Electronic Suspension Adjustment. Updated styling tweaks include a new dash with two round analogue instrument, double-butted aluminium handlebars, shorter and sportier rear brushed stainless steel silencer with electronically controlled exhaust flap with good throaty sound, and chrome manifold. BMW R 1200 R is available with partially integral ABS and Automatic Stability Control (ASC) option.
