The 2009 Yamaha WR250R is a dual sport style motorcycle powered by 250 cc, 4-stroke, liquid-cooled, DOHC, 4-valve, single cylinder engine, 77 x 53.6 mm bore and stroke, 11.8:1 compression ratio, combined with Mikuni 38mm throttle body F.I. fuel injection system and 6-speed transmission system generating 2.5kg-m (17.7 ft-lb) maximum torque at 8,500 rpm and 22.6 kW (30.7 PS) maximum power at 10,000 rpm. The 2009 Yamaha WR250R features: Double overhead cam, 4-valve combustion chamber features a compact “pent-roof” design for maximum breathing efficiency; Dual electrode NGK CR9EK spark plug; The crankcases feature a “tri-axis” design for the crankshaft, main and drive axles; Lightweight, high strength, short-skirt, forged aluminum piston; 38mm, Mikuni electronic throttle body type fuel injection system is used (38EIS); Compact 16 bit ECU features 3D ignition mapping to accommodate the engine power characteristics; and many more advanced technologies.
