The 2011 Harley Davidson FXS Softail® Blackline™ is a new member to the Softail family, adding another cruiser to the Dark Custom line. The motorcycle emphasize a simplified profile, slender look, and black main accent – including a black denim powdercoat for its steel frame and swingarm, and black anodized rim wheels. However, there’s still a fair amount of chrome including on the redesigned round air intake cover and over/under shotgun exhaust. Powertrain stays true to the Softail line’s TC96B V-Twin engine balanced with a 6-speed transmission, with 89 ft.lbs. of peak torque output at 3250 rpm. A 21” front wheel and 16” rear are set apart 66.5 in. on this long custom bike. Riding position is aggressive, with a fists forward stretch to the split-drag handlebars mounted to a thin upper triple clamp and FX front end. The 5 gallon fuel tank is stripped off its’ instrument console, replaced with a minimalist slammed speedo / gauge mounted atop the handlebar. Other highlights include the bobbed high, pulled down low rear fender with stripped down back-end hugging a narrow 144mm rear tire, hidden rear shock, 5.75-in. diameter headlamp in gloss black shell, low-slung two-up seat just 24 in. off the ground, and polished forward foot controls.
